Guiding Future Leaders

Who we are

Girls Toward Leadership – G2L is a non-profit and non-governmental organization that aims at empowering young Afghan women through holding capacity-building programs, providing educational opportunities, and advocacy. G2L works to create a more equal and inclusive society for all by providing people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed. G2L was founded in 2020 and it has been three years working on the rights of girls in Afghanistan.

What we do

We are a team of experienced volunteer workers majorly based in Afghanistan who believe in the girls’ leadership and the positive change it brings to the world.

Leadership

Organizing leadership camps and programs

Designing activities to practice and experience leadership position

Providing valuable opportunities for young women to develop their skills and gain practical experience. These hands-on learning experiences are essential in helping young women build confidence, gain valuable insights, and understand what it takes to be an effective leader.

Through these programs, young Afghan women will have the chance to interact with other young women from diverse backgrounds, network with experienced leaders, and learn from experts in various fields. By creating a supportive and empowering environment, the organization is helping to cultivate the next generation of leaders in Afghanistan.

Education

Providing educational opportunities

Organizing sessions on educational topics

Pieces of training on applying for scholarships

Education is a powerful tool that can help young Afghan women develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed and lead. By providing these opportunities, our organization is helping to level the playing field and ensure that young women have access to the resources they need to reach their full potential. Scholarships can provide young Afghan women with the financial resources they need to pursue their education and achieve their goals. By offering this training, our organization is helping to ensure that young women have the tools and knowledge they need to successfully apply for scholarships and secure the funding they need to succeed.

Mental Health

Organizing Awareness programs and activities on mental health topics

Providing opportunities for consultation with experts

Mental health is an important aspect of overall health and well-being, and by organizing awareness programs and activities on mental health topics, our organization is helping to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage young women to seek help when they need it.

Providing opportunities for consultation with experts is also a critical component of our organization’s work. By connecting young Afghan women with mental health experts, our organization is providing them with the resources and support they need to address any mental health concerns they may have. These consultations can help young women develop coping strategies, understand their mental health, and receive guidance on how to take care of their well-being.

Gender-based violence

Awareness programs on gender-based violence and its elimination

Awareness programs on gender-based violence and its elimination are crucial initiatives aimed at addressing one of the most pressing issues facing young Afghan women. Gender-based violence is a pervasive issue in many parts of the world, including Afghanistan, and it can have devastating effects on the lives of women and girls.

By organizing awareness programs on this issue, the organization is helping to bring attention to the problem and encourage action to eliminate it. Through these programs, young Afghan women can learn about the various forms of gender-based violence, the impact it has on individuals and communities, and strategies for preventing and responding to it.

Sexual and reproductive health

Conducting sessions on making girls aware of the importance of hygiene

Providing consultation opportunities

Conducting sessions on making girls aware of the importance of hygiene and providing consultation opportunities are important initiatives aimed at promoting health and well-being among young Afghan women. Good hygiene practices are crucial for maintaining good health and preventing the spread of disease, and it is essential that young women have the information and resources they need to maintain good hygiene practices.

Through these sessions, the organization is helping to educate young Afghan women on the importance of hygiene and the steps they can take to maintain good hygiene practices. This can include information on hand washing, oral hygiene, personal hygiene, and hygiene during menstrual periods.

STEM

Designing STEM projects

Organizing Bootcamps

By designing STEM projects and organizing boot camps, we are helping to develop critical skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork in young people, which can be valuable for their future careers.

To maximize the impact of your programs, we want to consider partnering with schools and other organizations in your community to reach as many students as possible. Additionally, we want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies and current industry trends into your projects and boot camps to keep students engaged and interested.

After months of being home full of stress and uncertainty for our life and future, this camp was exactly what we girls needed in this tough situation…If I put all the knowledge and new skills we learned and found interest to them aside, the positive feelings of being in touch with other girls same age as your age, talking, laughing and having a happy time for a while was lovely…beyond measure..!
